Predestination, absolute or subject to free will?

Destiny is a word full of promised potential.  Predestination is one that testifies about God’s omnipresent and omniscience.  The challenge with the concept is that it creates room for a debate. a debate that challenges the idea that a person can be destined to end up in a certain place or position and that he or she has no real say in the matter.

The way to place predestination in the proper context is to explore the application of the word in the life of an individual.  I am not the most skilled D. I. Y. person I know, and it’s happened on some occasions where the outcome of a personal project does not match the vision that I started out with.  This I attribute partially to my limited abilities, but feel the need to leave room for unexpected obstetrical or challenges along the way.

When we say that a person is predestined to achieve certain things in their lives it does not mean that they will automatically reach their predestined position or purpose. Outcomes do not follow blue prints, they come from actions, even if they are flawed.  When God gives a person a destiny, he also gives them the abilities to fulfill hat destiny.

Destiny is not some thing that is set in one’s future as an exclusive outcome, regardless of circumstance or personal influence.  Predestination simply means that something is possible, and that it can be achieved with the proper investment.

Let me elaborate somewhat.  Predestination is a lot like planing a journey to a far off place through a travel agent.  You get to choose the route you will travel.  If, along the way, you find some thing that is more interesting, you may very well decide to forgo your final destination and let yourself be side tracked by your new discovery.

In God’s heart he has a predestined plan for the life of every person that is conceived.  As part of His investment in your predestined purpose He will place in you the means and abilities to reach your potential and fulfill your purpose.  In his master plan for your life you will no doubt find that he has placed challenges and obstacles that you are only able to overcome while you are in a intimate relationship with Him, because he simply wants to be with you.

Searching for the plan that God has for your life is found in your relationship with him.  Understanding how to live in his perfect plan for your life comes from changing the way we see and think about things by reading and embracing biblical truth.  That is where “the truth shall set you free” becomes a reality for us.

Simply said predestination is Gods intended purpose for and through your life.  Fulfilling your predestined purpose in the Kingdom of God is dependent on a personal relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ.  it is also requires constant growth and personal investment in discovering and living out your full potential.

Predestination is Gods plan for your full potential. Reaching it is very dependent on your desire and commitment to invest yourself in obedience to his call.
